Shekhar Lab
at UC Berkeley

We are an interdisciplinary research group that combines data-driven and mathematical modeling approaches to investigate fundamental questions in neuroscience. We use single-cell genomic approaches to understand the patterning of neural diversity in the brain, with a special focus on the visual system. More recently, we have also become interested in modeling basic aspects of neuronal physiology from an electrochemical perspective.

We are part of the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering (CBE) at UC Berkeley. We are also affiliated with the Helen Wills Neuroscience Institute, Center for Computational Biology, Berkeley Biophysics, and the Biological Systems and Engineering Division at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.

If you are interested in our research, please write to Karthik at kshekhar [AT] berkeley.edu
